The Norwalk Social Services Department offers a wide range of emergency and support services to residents in crisis situations. Our goal is to assist individuals and families whose resources have been exhausted, stabilize their situation and seek long-term solutions.

The City of Norwalk, funded with County, State and Federal funds, offers a variety of child care options throughout the community. Our program can help pay for all or part of your child care expenses. For more information regarding this program, please click on the image below.

Eviction Assistance Program

Legal services for eviction

Norwalk residents have access to attorney representation for eviction defense and court proceedings from Community Legal Services. Whether you have received a 3-day notice to pay or quit, notice to vacate, or summons, visit Legal Aid’s office for a consultation immediately. The summons requires a response within five days of receipt, so any delay can jeopardize your case. Community Legal Services will work to negotiate a settlement or challenge the eviction action. There is no income qualification requirement for this program.
