Community Forums coming your way!
In April 2017, Norwalk City Council established community meetings to give residents an opportunity to be heard in their "own backyards," at easily accessible neighborhood locations. As part of the city's effort to strengthen community connections, these meetings were offered each quarter to provide an open forum for the people of Norwalk to share concerns, questions and comments.
The Community Forums are special City Council meetings open to the public, with a more relaxed format than regular meetings. To make it more convenient for residents to attend, each meeting is held at a different area of Norwalk.
The first Community Forum was held on May 9, 2017 at New River Elementary School. Subsequent forums were held at: Sanchez Elementary School, Moffitt Elementary School, Lakeland Elementary School, St. John of God, Social Services Center and Lakeside Middle School.
The City continues to engage the public through these town hall style meetings. The next event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27 at 6 p.m. at Corvallis Middle School, located at 11032 Leffingwell Road. Registration is not required. Light refreshments will be served, and translation services will be available for our Spanish speaking residents.
